The PSAL delivered another important weekend across all four classifications. Erasmus Hall survived a defensive battle with Tottenville, Eagle Academy II continued its unbeaten run, and Bryant made a statement in 2A. Meanwhile, Stuyvesant and Eagle Academy III kept building momentum in 3A.
Erasmus Wins a Defensive Battle
Erasmus Hall Dutchmen defeated Tottenville Pirates 14–12 Friday night, snapping the Pirates’ three-game winning streak. The Dutchmen improved to 3–3 overall, but their record doesn’t tell the entire story. After opening against difficult out-of-state competition, Erasmus has won three of its last four games. The victory over Tottenville gives the defending champions another meaningful result in the 4A race.
Eagle II Leaves no Doubt
Eagle Academy II Eagles overwhelmed Port Richmond 62–0, improving to 6–0. The Eagles have now beaten Lincoln, Erasmus Hall, Wagner and Port Richmond in PSAL competition. Friday’s 62-point performance was their highest-scoring game of the season. Eagle II continues to separate itself at the top of 4A. The challenge now is maintaining that standard as the schedule moves toward November.
Stuyvesant and Eagle III Keep Climbing
Stuyvesant Peglegs improved to 5–1 with a convincing 42–6 victory over Cardozo. The Peglegs have won four straight, strengthening their position in the 3A championship conversation.
Eagle Academy III was equally impressive, shutting out Roosevelt 50–0. The Eagles improved to 4–1 and have now recorded three victories by at least 50 points.
Sheepshead Bay also delivered a strong performance, defeating Madison 40–14 for its second consecutive victory. The Sharks are beginning to regain momentum after an inconsistent September.
Bryant Makes a Statement in 2A
Bryant Owls remained unbeaten with a 28–0 victory over previously undefeated Campus Magnet. The defending 2A champions improved to 4–0, recording their third consecutive shutout. Bryant has allowed just eight points across its four reported victories, reinforcing its position among the classification’s leading contenders.
Beach Channel also made noise, defeating Grand Street Campus 50–18. The Dolphins improved to 3–1 and delivered their highest-scoring performance of the season.
Lafayette Keeps Building in 1A
Lafayette continued its turnaround with a 38–0 shutout of Evander Childs. After opening the season with consecutive losses, the Patriots have won three straight, scoring 100 points over that stretch. Lafayette has moved above .500 and is beginning to establish itself as a team worth watching in 1A.
ATS Weekend Standout
Lorenzo Lopez — Bryant
103 rushing yards, 26 receiving yards, 1 rushing touchdown.
Lopez delivered a strong all-around performance against Campus Magnet, highlighted by a reported 97-yard touchdown run. His production helped Bryant remain undefeated in one of the weekend’s most important 2A matchups.
ATS Takeaway
Eagle II remains the team to beat, but the races underneath are getting interesting. Erasmus Hall continues to prove that its early losses don’t define its championship potential. Stuyvesant and Eagle Academy III are building impressive résumés in 3A, while Bryant has established itself as the early standard in 2A. In 1A, Lafayette’s turnaround deserves attention, but the classification still needs more results between its leading contenders.
The biggest takeaway is simple: October is beginning to separate teams with impressive records from teams with meaningful victories.
