The CHSFL delivered another revealing weekend. St. Joseph-by-the-Sea picked up a major road win, St. Anthony’s stayed hot, Cardinal Hayes rolled, and Fordham Prep knocked off an unbeaten.
SEA MAKES A STATEMENT
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea went to Stepinac and came away with a 34–23 win. The game was tied 14–14 at halftime before Sea took control after the break. It’s the kind of result that changes the way we look at a team. Sea now owns one of the more meaningful wins of the weekend and has forced its way deeper into the CHSFL conversation.
ST. ANTHONY’S KEEPS CLIMBING
St. Anthony’s beat previously unbeaten Xavier 35–27 for its second straight win. The Friars opened 0–2 against a difficult schedule, but that start is beginning to feel less important with each week. St. Anthony’s is playing like a team that has found its footing.
HAYES ROLLS
Cardinal Hayes finally got a comfortable one, handling St. Peter’s 49–7 at Kraft Field. The Cardinals are now 3–1 with three straight wins. After surviving back-to-back one-possession games, Hayes showed it can also put a team away early.
FORDHAM PREP KNOCKS OFF AN UNBEATEN
Fordham Prep beat previously unbeaten St. John the Baptist 13–6. The Rams have now won two straight, and holding an unbeaten team to six points gives Fordham Prep one of the better defensive results of the weekend.
CHAMINADE RESPONDS
Chaminade bounced back with a 25–18 win over St. Francis Prep. It was an important response for a team trying to regain some early-season momentum before the schedule gets even tougher.
