Defending PSAL 4A champion Erasmus Hall will begin conference play against John F. Kennedy Campus on Friday at 4 p.m. at Sid Luckman Field in Brooklyn. The official PSAL schedule confirms the opening-week matchup.
Erasmus enters the game with an 0–2 record, but the start may be misleading. The Dutchmen lost 29–20 to Millville and 28–12 to Delbarton, two established New Jersey programs that provided the type of early competition designed to prepare Erasmus for another championship run.
Despite the loss to Millville, Erasmus produced 481 yards of offense. Running back Jordan Bishop rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown, while Ebube Onukaogu recorded 165 receiving yards and a score. Bishop and Christian Bordeaux give the Dutchmen a dangerous backfield capable of controlling the game and creating explosive plays.
Kennedy opened its season with a 36–20 victory over Monroe-Woodbury, rushing for 288 yards while attempting little through the air. The Knights later suffered a narrow loss to Stuyvesant on a field goal in the final minute, according to Stuyvesant’s team account.
The Kennedy offense is led by junior quarterback Jeremiah Senat, a three-year starter who threw for 670 yards and seven touchdowns last season. Senior Amadou Samake is the Knights’ most proven offensive weapon after contributing 501 rushing yards, 234 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns in 2025.
Kennedy’s first key will be establishing balance. The Knights cannot rely entirely on their running game against an experienced Erasmus defense. Senat must connect on enough downfield throws to prevent the Dutchmen from crowding the line of scrimmage.
Defensively, Kennedy must contain Bishop and Bordeaux, tackle well in space and avoid giving Erasmus short fields. The Knights were shut out, 35–0, by Erasmus last season, so surviving the opening quarter and keeping the game within reach will be important.
For Erasmus, the challenge is turning a demanding nonleague schedule into sharper execution. The Dutchmen have moved the ball but must finish drives, protect possession and avoid allowing Kennedy’s running attack to control the clock.
Kennedy should be improved and more competitive than it was in last season’s meeting. However, Erasmus has the deeper group of playmakers, championship experience and home-field advantage.
Prediction: Erasmus Hall 28, John F. Kennedy Campus 14. The Knights should make Erasmus work, but the Dutchmen’s powerful backfield and experience against stronger early-season competition should eventually decide the game.
